master card bought me a set of wilwood big brakes .
should work great for the next race in july
its a bolt on kit 13 inch rotors 6 piston calipers
come with fastners and caliper brakets and hoses and fittings
only works with 17 inch wheels and some 16"s depending ...
so we did the conversion

it can never be as simple as it looks

the instructions  said to grind off the edge of the front arm to clear the rotor
and we did that

but because the suspension geometry changes when the car is on the ground,
we had to redo the brakes 4 times
each time grinding off a little more material from the arm

i thought we were finally done
but the suspension under load  touches the brakes
we need more clearance
ill have to shave the arms some more

take the rotors off another time

you can see the size difference and the narrow gap
 it rubbed on the rotor
now i need to get the rotor resurfaced

learn the hard way again

grinded the front arms again and now we have enough clearence for the rotors,
looks like we have brakes

i still need to install the proportioning valve and bleed the system again

btw -  i had already installed a 280zx (bigger) master cylinder,
the bigger m c  is needed for this conversion
